Supplier Member of the Month allows one CFA Supplier member per month to highlight their business.

Corvus Energy is the world’s leading supplier of zero-emission solutions for the ocean space.

As the leading supplier of battery energy storage systems (ESS) for maritime, offshore, subsea and port applications, Corvus Energy has worked with world-class electrical system integrators and ship designers on over 135 all-electric and hybrid Ro-Pax, Ro-Ro, commuter and excursion passenger ferries, and high-speed passenger ferries around the world.

Corvus Energy offers a full portfolio of ESSs suitable for almost every vessel type:

  • The award-winning Corvus Orca ESS, with high energy density and high power delivery for versatility in a wide range of applications.Lightweight Corvus Dolphin ESS, with the industry’s highest power or energy capacities by weight for high-speed ferry, workboat and crew transfer vessels. The massive Corvus Blue Whale ESS, scalable to 50+ MWh sizes for long duration zero-emission voyages and deployable at the industry’s highest battery room energy density.Watertight Corvus Energy Moray ESS for underwater applications.

The purpose-built, field-proven battery systems provide sustained power to hybrid and all-electric heavy industrial equipment, including large marine propulsion drives, providing high-power energy storage in the form of modular lithium-ion battery systems.

The company also develops maritime hydrogen fuel cells in collaboration with the world leader in fuel cell technology, Toyota Corporation, which will pave the way for longer zero-emission voyages. Research is underway to optimize battery-fuel cell hybrid power management to minimize fuel consumption and extend fuel cell life.

Corvus Energy has unsurpassed experience from 600 projects, totaling over 500 MWh and more than 4 million operating hours—more than all other marine ESS suppliers combined!

In Western Canada, Seaspan Ferries, BC Ferries and BC Inland Ferries are operating Corvus batteries or have project underway in a total of 12 Ro-Ro or Ro-Pax ferries. In Eastern Canada, the Marilyn Bell passenger ferry to Toronto’s Billly Bishop airport operates with zero-emissions using a Corvus battery.

Seaspan Ferries has 5 Ro-Ro cargo ferries in service or coming into service.
BC Ferries has 6 Ro-Pax ferries in service or coming into service, and are exploring going all-electric.
Toronto’s Billy Bishop airport passenger ferry, Marilyn Bell, is fully electric using Corvus

Proudly Canadian, with R&D and manufacturing near Vancouver, Corvus Energy is an active member of Canada’s Ocean Supercluster, the Canadian Ferry Association, and the Vancouver Maritime Centre for Climate.
