Autonomous Ferries: The Need for a Regulatory Framework

The Canadian Ferry Association invites you to its first webinar of the year!

Autonomous Ferries: The Need for a Regulatory Framework
March 8, 2022
1:00 pm – 2:30 pm ET

Autonomous vehicles are no longer fiction.  They exist.  And the technology also exists for ferries.  Some autonomous ferries have operated in Scandinavia and technologies linked to autonomous vehicles are already used in some Canadian ferries (auto-docking).

New technologies around autonomous vessels are being developed daily.  There are more conferences related to autonomous vehicles than there are days in the calendar year.  Governments are required to provide a regulatory framework to enable the safe adoption of the technology in Canada.

The Canadian Ferry Association (CFA) is looking forward to hosting a dialogue on what regulatory needs exist to support the adoption of autonomous vehicles technology in the ferry sector.
