The Accessible Canada Act (2019) may impose some requirements on your operations. We’ve therefore organized a webinar to review requirements and have a discussion with two very knowledgeable individuals:
Sonia Gangopadhyay is the Director at the Centre of Expertise for Accessible Transportation at the Canadian Transportation Agency,
Natalie Rose is an Accessibility Specialist at Left Turn Right Turn Accessibility a firm that has worked with organizations in the transportation sector.
The webinar will start by a presentation by Sonia and will then be a moderated Q&A session.
We hope you – and/or the people in your organization responsible for accessibility requirements – will attend.
Autonomous vehicles are no longer fiction. They exist. And the technology also exists for ferries. Some autonomous ferries have operated in Scandinavia and technologies linked to autonomous vehicles are already used in some Canadian ferries (auto-docking).
New technologies around autonomous vessels are being developed daily. There are more conferences related to autonomous vehicles than there are days in the calendar year. Governments are required to provide a regulatory framework to enable the safe adoption of the technology in Canada.
The Canadian Ferry Association (CFA) is looking forward to hosting a dialogue on what regulatory needs exist to support the adoption of autonomous vehicles technology in the ferry sector.

Disruptive Technologies and the Human Impact: Innovation Waves in the Ferry Industry
Artificial intelligence, robotics, automation – these were concepts that, until very recently, were the subject of science-fiction stories. However, these technologies are now becoming part of our everyday lives, including aboard ferries. At the conference we will explore the interaction between technologies and crews, as well as passengers, and examine the related challenges and opportunities.
