E.Y.E. Marine Consultants has an established tradition of innovative, successful projects, offering a wide range of consulting service, including complete new designs, redesigns and modifications, feasibility studies, lofting, drafting, tonnage measurements, 3D modeling, structural evaluations, and stability analysis.
The firm has designed vessels ranging from small workboats and barges, to complex ocean-going vessels such as RORO ferries, escort tugs, and seismographic research vessels. Recent projects include several ferry designs for the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal. Designing in excess of 150 vessels, including ferries for Halifax, New Brunswick and BC Ferries, each vessel incorporates the unique features that the owner requires while meeting regulatory requirements and performance specifications. The company’s naval architects and engineers spend time working with yards during construction and refits, resulting in a strong understanding of what is “build-able” and practical.
With experience and innovative technology, E.Y.E. Marine can handle any project that vessel owners and builders require. Utilizing leading edge technology for vessel design, 3D hull models and structural layouts are produced with accuracy. 3D CAD software is used to provide clients with a preview of their future vessel before beginning construction. The firm has invested in the latest software to analyze structural integrity, system efficiency, and mechanical design. These tools expedite the design of complex deck equipment such as vehicle ramps, deck cranes, A-frames and davits.
The firm was established in 1967 when the Yeatman Endal Co. merged with Evans Engineering, and adopted the abbreviated name in 1986. Currently, the company consists of eight full time employees, three of which are Licensed Engineers. Two other employees have post graduate degrees in Naval Architecture.
